uable to load system description tables

Hello all,

I recently tried to upgrade to I I 8.10
I have an old Hewlett Packard Pavillion
When I tried to upgrade to I.I.
8.10 I was  asked to reboot.
The result is after grub loading I get this message

A 02811201
ACPI: unable to load systems descriptions tables.

No matter which linux program I run (I tried to run the knoppix live dvd)
I cannot start a session.

Any  help would be welcome
