Hello, Girard,

most of the problems you describe here are neither kde, nor kubuntu issues.

kernel is kernel, so right place is to bug the kernel people. In fact how can you expect something top work, that is in rc (release candidate) state?
The fact that it has not been released speaks itself .

Install the debian kernel 2.6.26-1-686 - you can download the packages from debian.org.
I did and it works just fine (on desktop, notebook etc) My webcam works, my wireless works and so on.

I downloaded those packages:

linux-headers-2.6.26-1-686_2.6.26-5_i386.deb
linux-headers-2.6.26-1-common_2.6.26-5_i386.deb
linux-image-2.6.26-1-686_2.6.26-5_i386.deb
linux-kbuild-2.6.26_2.6.26-3_i386.deb
linux-source-2.6.26_2.6.26-5_all.deb
linux-support-2.6.26-1_2.6.26-5_all.deb
linux-tree-2.6.26_2.6.26-5_all.deb

Where did you get the 2.6.27 kernel from - did you compile yourself?

Please describe the problems more precisely and may be provide a debug output!

what kind of audio chip and webcam model do you have inside/outside?

Did you mean you tried the 2.6.27 kernel on those distros. Well if there is a driver issue or kernel issue, then it wont work in any distro ... that's why it's called kernel - doesn't it?

YOu mean also with 2.6.27?

what is the same to be true - did not understand the reference?
