Compiz Fusion help needed.

It sounds like your window manager died.  I've had this happen before. 
Try  typing "emerald" on the command-line, and see if it comes back.  If 
not look under system for Compiz Fusion Icon.  If it's there, run it.  
It puts an icon on your task bar.  Right click it and select "Reload 
Windows Manager".
