I usually use Adept Package Manager, however, I have had Adept go on the 
fritz on occasion (not for about a year now, though), but whenever I was 
working through the problem with Adept, I used Synaptic.  Synaptic did 
everything just as well.  I think I stay with Adept, because I started 
with it and like the way it works.  I really think they are about equal 
though.
