How to configure printer in Kubuntu 8.10

No, I think He only has a fair guess since He is a being of logic and none 
seems to be used in the hiding the config settings from one update to 
another.  The only way I have ever made Printing work on Kubuntu is to copy 
the file I wish printed onto a SD card, carry the card over to my Mandriva 
desktop which is connected to the printer and plug it in, bring up Mandriva 
file manager, find the file on the SD card, and tell it to print.
