I don't agree with you on the security. I think you have a
responsibility to internet users to make sure your systems are secure.
You are assuming that the smart hacker that discovered the security
holes want tell anyone so the kids cant exploit it, but you are wrong
sooner or later he will report to the vendors, show it at black hat or
use it so others will found out about it, and from there there is not
long before there is a tool that can sweep the Internet for machines
with that security hole and the kids and other will start using it to
turn your machine to a zombie that perhaps will serve child porn to
sick bastards.
The point is, you may not care what happens to your computer or your
data but if you are connected to the net you have some responsibility
to others that it may affect.
