I am confused. Aren't they basically the same? What I heard was that
Kubuntu had more configuration problems. Doesn't Ubuntu use KDE? I
tried 8.10 a while back but found it too difficult for me to handle
KDE4, but now I am changing to 64 bit and AMD quad, and I heard that 64
bit was a necessity and Ubuntu stabler than Kubuntu. I am currently
using Hardy. With my new computer, I would like to make the best first
install, so that all the little hidden files that I never am aware of,
come from the better first install; I am not sure if that matters, it is
just a thought. When I have formatted a Hard Drive, there is always
something left on the drive. I don't know what it is, but I don't want
it to be the lesser of two OS's with stuff I can't get rid of. About
the Ubuntu users list. Is it like this list, where we receive emails
and post on emails?
I have only ever used Kubuntu. Initially, not knowing the difference, I
just chose the most attractive. I liked the Blue rather than warm color
Desktop. Not much of a reason to make the choice, but also it was the
newer work.
By the way, my new motherboard is an ASUS Mempipe board. It has
Crossfire and SLI technology onboard and the ability to handle all the
benefits of my processor. Do you know if Kubuntu or Ubuntu has worked
the SLI problem? I think only Vista can work with it in Microsoft. I
don't have the absolute cutting edge for components, but I am not far
off. So, I want to make the right decision for OS. TIA.
