Why? Kubuntu 7.10 or 8.04 were both "ready" in the sense of being a
huge improvement over Windows. Can you do everything you do on Windows?
Perhaps not - it depends what you need. These days, though, I use
Windows because I have to verify my sites work on Windows, not because
there's anything on Windows I can't use elsewhere.

Yes, 8.10 is "ready", which isn't to say there aren't things that have
me tearing out my hair!
