kde4 and panel buttons

katapult functionality is now in krunner and an alt-f2 accesses the 
prompt. I looked for a way to assign it to alt-space but the hunt 
continues.

As for adding to the menu, right click on the menu and select edit. It 
is fairely straight forward from there. You can also add to favorites 
and have them shown outside the menu structure.

Also, you may want to take a look at "lancelot" as a replacement for the 
menu button. I like it better that the default 'vista' navigator.
