Well the LTS is good for big deployments because you don't want to
constantly upgrade 500+ computers.

I use Ubuntu (gnome) at work. The upgrade was a flawless as
Feisty>Gutsy>Hardy. The core OS is fine and getting ever more stable.
Kubuntu Intrepid's only problem is the experimental DE.
