I am not familiar with the program, I just found a post mentioning it
on the web (google). I see no mention of the timer function in the
manpage. See if the project has a mailing list, or try googling
"wvdial timer".

I also asked on the Debian list on your behalf. The list has higher
traffic than this list, and is much more technical. As *buntu is
Debian-based, the question is relevant.
