I think this email goes to the core of the problem of making a default
that is not yet ready to be the default software. I have at this point
lost count of the number of people that have stated that they will try
other distros. I am sure of lot of them have no intention of staying
with the new distro and will come screaming back here to a familiar
bed but some WILL leave and that weakens Kubuntu and Ubuntu brand in
general. When the Devs start doing stuff that makes a bunch of the
core posters try other Distros then something has gone VERY wrong. I
too find my self in this boat. Stay and change to KDE4 in a year or
else leave to something like Debian or maybe Sabayon.
