update to 8.04 issue

Hi,

I just updated to 8.04. Mostly it went okay. I detest the fact that 
Kubuntu insists on changing the KDM login setup on every update, but 
other that hosing the samba setup, it went well.

One problem remains, however, I use KDM, but now when I log out, I'm 
presented with tty 1. There's no error msg thrown out, just a command 
prompt sitting there blinking at me. I can ctrl+alt to all ttys. tty8 is 
pretty much dead, but I can ctrl+alt+del to reboot.

Any suggestions?
