Firefox and ktorrent

I was trying to download a torrent today in hardy using firefox 3B5. In
the past, before the upgrade, it would open ktorrent by default and life
was good. Now I get the cryptic message:
aaa.bbb.ccc.torrent could not be opened, because the associated helper
application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.
I have looked at the KDE file associations and they seem to be correct.
I am thinking that this is a firefox thing. Try as I might, though, I am
not finding any way to perform the task it suggests. I have seen a
number of others have asked the same question on the net but nobody,
that I have found, has gotten an answer yet.
Ktorrent is installed and it works perfectly. I can cut and past the url
into it by hand and the download starts without any problems.
Any suggestions?

Sometimes I wonder. Were our faith able to stand upright and look around, would it be looking down at the mustard seed or standing in awe of the height and breadth of it.
