OT: U3 uninstall (USB thumb drives)

Had the same problem here, tried to use the U3 uninstaller on a 
Windows XP box - with no success. The device did not show in Linux 
Kubuntu 8.04.

My final solution was easier than expected:

Plugged the USB stick into a Windows boc, opened a "command prompt" 
and typed : "format F:" (where F was the designated drive as shown 
in "My Computer").

Voila: full functional USB Cruzer Micro 4 GB in Kubuntu Hardy.
