Yes, you can launch the components _first_ and they stay separate, but if
kontact is already running, it just swallows them. Back in the early days
of KDE3 I found this endlessly frustrating, because KMail was extremely
unstable, and every time it crashed it killed kontact, but if I started it
up on its own, it would eventually crash and I'd restart it, it would get
swallowed by kontact, and _then_ it would crash kontact too. Thankfully,
_that_ hasn't been a problem for a long time.
