Not sure, but since in order to make the root password = "" you go into 
a file and delete every char (I believe the name of the file is 
/etc/shadowsomething ?), you could go there and type any char in the 
same place; it's an encrypted file, so a clear password would correspond 
to a password impossible to type :)
