Holy Firefox Sqlite!!!

Anyone notice that in your:

~/.mozilla/firefox/vdt4357z.default 

Directory there is a file(s) that start with:

urlclassifier3.sqlite   (various names)

Some of these files are huge (like 53mb)

I deleted them all on a whim the other day and within a day the above file 
came back at   53mb.

I really don't think these things are necessary....  i.e.  why in heck are 
they so big and what are they doing with them?

Anyone have a clue?
