Well I think I have an nvidia problem

I am rather new to Kubuntu and this is my second time posting on this
mailing list.  This list has helped me a great deal with my problems with
Kubuntu but now I am stuck and need some advice.  My computer was running
great for about a 2 months now and when I restarted it yesterday, during
start up diagnostic, it tells me that the sba1 has been forced mounted 35
times and needs to be scanned...and runs a scan disk esk program.  Well
everything turned out to be fine but when the computer ended up
booting...all my graphic card settings are shot and its stuck its 640 x
480.  All help would be great.  Thanks a lot.
