vmware (vmnet is not loaded) issue after kernel update

dpkg-reconfigure complained that the package wasn't completely
installed. And installation fails.
Thus, purged, but still the installation failed.
So, I rebooted into the old kernel (Ubuntu 7.10, kernel
2.6.22-14-generic), installed, and vmware server worked fine.
Seems like
vmware-server-kernel-modules
still depends on:
vmware-server-kernel-modules-2.6.22-14
and there is no sign of:
vmware-server-kernel-modules-2.6.22-15
since installing on 22-15 simply pulls in the above for 22-14.
Odd that no-one else is having the same problem, though.
