     I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how KDE4 could somehow make 
Samba fail.  Samba's completely different.  Unless you mean there is some 
configuration tool in KDE4 which doesn't work with Samba.  However once 
configured KDE4 should have no interaction with Samba and it should work.
