That was my thought. How much ram are you using and how much ram is in
the demo machine?
It's very hard to evaluate performance in machines that aren't equal. My
desktop with a 3.2GHz processor and two gigs ram is quite fast. My new
laptop with a 1.8GHz processor and four gigs ram is blazing fast even in
Live CD. [ I haven't decided on install method yet. ] Both machines are
Intel dual core processors.
Comparing my desktop with a standard instal and my laptop in Live CD. It
"seems" like the laptop is faster even though it's processor is half the
speed of the desktop. Doubling the ram does the trick for it.
When your asking how to speed up Kubuntu you need to first ask how the
machines are the same and different.
