Black background menus with KMediaFactory

I've just tried using KMediaFactory for the first time I think since upgrading 
to Hardy and for some reason the background of every DVD menu I create is 
black both in the preview window and on the DVD.

I've done a Google search, but haven't found any solutions. So I'm turning to 
this mailing list for help.
