Getting sleep and hibernate working on a Dell Inspiron 8500

having the same problem on an Everex laptop. in fact if you select Hibernate 
from the Enlightenment menu, once it comes back up the wireless no longer 
works (to the tune of rebooting).  this laptop uses the via chrome9 chipset. 
have found no solution.
