Java for use in Firefox and Open Office - which packages to download?

OK.  With the --without-recommends parameter, aptitude only installs 6 
packages, none of them gnome libs.  It gave me a recommendation of ubufox, 
which I assume is the meta-package for all of the gnome stuff.

Now I need to figure out how to get OOo 3 from the ppa to use java when 
needed.
