In reference to the above two sentences, I could not tell if anyone
replied to this. However, when you open a console and run a program,
whatever type, the console becomes a "parent process" and the program is
the "child process" of that parent and remains so until you close the
"child process". So, when you close the "parent process" you close the
"child process" if it is still running.
Hope this gives some clarity to the use of the console and programs that
are run in it.
