Not at all.

If you go to www.linuxant.com,  and click on the "Drivers" tab and select 
Conexant modems, you'll find a lot of information.

I downloaded scanModem, which is a neat program to identify your modem.

Once I did that, I found out is was an HSF modem (whatever that is)

So click on the left for  HSF (softmodem driver)  and download.

You agree to the license, and then download the install program:

cnxtinstall.run

Make it executable, and run it and it will do a nice install of everything.
