Konqueror (or KDE in general) and proxy settings

Hi

At work a proxy is set up (http://proxy.intra.rma.acBe:3128). When I use 
firefox I can specify in its settings to 'auto-detect proxy settings' and it 
works OK.

In konqueror (KDE3.5.x and KDE4.1) always has problems detecting these 
settings. I have to manually set them at work and unset them at home.

Is konqueror unable to detect these settings? And can other KDE programs use 
these settings detected by konqueror?
