Problems with media applet... again!!!

Dear all,
after the upgrade to kubuntu hardy this hateful bug came back 
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeaddons/+bug/148154). I've 
already tried the solution I wrote in my comment to the bug, but it doesn't 
work...
Please someone tell me what the hell did they update as I can't have my media 
applet working... I really don't understand, the version of kde is the same 
(3.5.9 in gutsy and 3.5.9 now in hardy).
