Ndiswrapper is there. I use the Acer internal Inproconn Ipn 2220 with it and
it works well.

I once tested, something like nearly a year ago, a Simply Mephis and was
surprised to have my wlan starting at boot with the wireless switched off. It
worked so well that it connected to my neighbour open net! No good... but I
managed to find 64bit drivers and succeeded in getting kubuntu work all
right.
I've also noticed they have added support for other wifi cards in Gutsy.
