You can, but it really isn't necessary.

imo, nobody can. I ran the ntfs-3g filesystem driver for a year or so, and
it eventually corrupted the ntfs partition. Even after fixing the partition
I was unable to read from it. I went back to using the readonly driver and
have no trouble.
