No need to be scared - first time, unmount any partitions you don't need,
then use "sudo sync" to make sure all your disc buffers are flushed,
hibernate.
If it doesn't resume, no harm is done. More likely, if it doesn't work, it
will fail to hibernate and won't shut down, so even less likely to be a
problem.
