Anyone know what this would mean?

I've  been trying to upgrade some packages in the past couple days and I keep 
getting this error for some reason:

There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading 
some packages or the commit would break packages.

I have been running 7.10 RC for about a month and I tried to upgrade via adept 
yesterday and adept tells me my system is up to date, but on the other hand 
it keeps notifying me that there is a version upgrade available.
