I hate to hear that you have had so much trouble with SAMBA, but my experience 
has been rather decent.   And, all of the things you mention are Ok, IF you 
are wanting to access the Kubuntu machine FROM Windoze, but he's wanting to 
go the other way around.  Read the OP.
