It is dismaying how many native English speakers make silly mistakes like
that over and over again.

Pretty soon the English dictionaries will have both meaning the same thing,
because of usage.

My own hot button is "loose", which is the opposite of "tight".

"Lose", "loser", "lost" are completely different words relating to something
not found, or not winning.

Of course, on the other hand, I am amazed at how well the many non-native
English writers on here do in their postings.

I would be forever in the position of hoping to talk as well as a native 1
year old.
