Hi!
I'm not quite sure abiut that hardware, but you can get a Live CD for
testing. WiFi ought to work, as Intel has some Linux Drivers.
Dual Booting is a good abckup solution, and when you want to get rid
of Windows, delete the partition and use it according to your needs.
(Some additional steps are necessary, but don't belong here...)
Give it a try with a Live CD!
