Hi list,
I installed Kubuntu (edgy) to a friend's Toshiba laptop. It worked fine
until a few hours ago when he switched it on and it appears the terminal
asking for the user and password. Typing the user and the password produces
the output
"-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied"
and this appears continuously until i press ctrl+c. Then i can see in the
terminal i have logged in. If i try with "startx" i get the following
output:
Error opening /dev/wacom : No such file or directory
(EE) xf860penSerial: Cannot open device /dev/wacom
No such file or directory.
[The above part appears repeated 4 times and then appears the following.]
No core pointer
Fatal server error:
failed to initialize core devices
XI0: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
xauth: error in locking authority file /home/jordi/.Xauthority
/usr/bin/startx: line 169: /dev/null: Permission denied
Can anyone give me a hint on what to do, please?
