Amarok and iPod

About a year ago, there was a discussion here about getting iPod to work
with Amarok. At the time, we discovered that it was not possible to
transfer music from Amarok to your iPod if the music wasn't in mp3
format.
I'm privileged to tell you that that's no longer true. Just tried to
transfer my .flac files to my ipod, and Amarok will now automagically
transcode the files to mp3.
To set it up, make sure you have libpng3 (not installed by default),
lame and decoder for whatever format you have your files in.
In Amarok, click on Tools->Script Manager
Click on Get More Scripts button
There seems to be at least two scripts that will do the conversion for
you, transKode and Audio Format Converter. I installed transKode, but
the other might work.
Once installed, click on Run script. The script should now be
running. You can configure the script if you want.
In Settings->Configure Amarok, click on the Media Devices tab.
Click on your iPod device configure button (between the plugin pull-down
menu and remove button). Select the transcode before transfering.
Whenever you transfer your music to the ipod, Amarok will convert the
files to mp3 if the files are not already in that format.
This is so cool.
