Are newbies running a firewall?

Just to add to this discussion I run Guarddog and have no problems 
whatsoever, the "shields up" can find out a few things about me but not 
much. So why Guarddog is not working for you I dont understand.

And I would vote for Guarddog to be included in the installation in 
future distros.
