installing vmware-tools in Ubuntu-6.06?

hey guys, i was looking to do this vmware install now that i have my system
how i want it. so my question is how do you get vmware for free if they are
all evaluation downloads? is there somewhere specifically you have to
download from to get a FREE COPY or is this just it and the eval last as
long as you want until you decide to purchase???
