Hi List,

after a new installation of Edgy I can't load my pictures from my camera
to my computer. I never had this failure before. I use Digikam for my
the management of all my pictures.

The picture files are stored in a folder /home/pictures where I have
read/write access. The program works fine but since yesterday I can't
import any photos from my camera. When I switch on the camera I get the
message:

USB Imaging Interface - KDE Daemon
A new medium has been detected.
What do you want to do?
Upload photos to Digikam?

When I choose this choice the program starts correct but then I get the
error message:
Failed to list files in /camera

The Digikam program auto-detects the camera as
Canon Digital IXUS 50 (normal mode)

When I first start Digikam and try to open the camera from the program
the error message is:
Failed to connect to camera.
Please make sure its connected properly
and turned on.
Would you like to try again?

The camera is a Canon PowerShot A520. When I don't use the auto-detect
function and install this camera type from the offered choices I get the
identical error messages.

Any hints?

Thank you in advance
Peter
