kickoff and recent apps

It's not a standalone app that you need to launch. It's a K Menu replacement, 
so it should take over your regular K Menu applet/button. You might need to 
restart Kicker. Press Alt+F2 and enter this command:

dcop kicker kicker restart

I should warn you though, if you uninstall kickoff, you will have to reinstall 
the kicker package.
