KDE and Virtual Desktop Size

Post to my post:
KDE handles the change, but not smoothly. Windows are set to open throughout
the desktop space, leading to some windows opening off screen. This requires
that each application window be set to load at a certain location initially.
Another concern is the lack of immediate access to KMenu. Perhaps one way
around this is to assign Katapult to a keyboard shortcut. Another way would
be to assign KMenu to the desktop right click menu.
Also, the mounted device icons are removed from the desktop after switching to
the larger screen. To work in with the larger virtual desktop would require
a some study to make it efficient, but there exists enough baseline
functionality to make it promising at some point in the not-to-distant
future.
