CPU temperature watching

Sounds like it's not easy. For some reason I'm uncomfortable with compiling my
own kernel -- not sure how to synch that with the kernal updates that come
out via adept -- not to mention nvidia stuff.

This worries me too -- how do you *know* you are seeing a number that is
