Error during backup of evolution in Kubuntu

Hello everybody
        I was wondering if anybody had any idea why I'm getting an error
        when I
        try to copy and past the folder for evolution to a flash drive
        or any
        other temp. backup distination.  It just states that it can't
        move the
        files.  (it seems like it's only having a problem with the mbox
        type"
        I'm just trying to backup the whole folder (profile, mail,
        setting,
        etc.) 
        My user account owns the file...so it's not a permisson thing.
        Evolution isn't running....at least not in an obvious window.
