AMD deciding _now_ what to do about Linux

I generally run AMD cpu's but last upgrade switched to an Intel core duo
6600. At the time the comparable AMD 6000+ was sold at an outrageous
price. Now Amd has seen the light and has competitive prices. I do hope
their new architecture turns out to be really good. The 6600 easily over
clocks 30% and is decently cool at stock speed. Without the completion
between these 2 companies we would still be paying a grand for a 486.
