Not as far as I can tell.  After installing Ubuntu Studio, I logged into the 
default environment one time for kicks.  Wow.  Allllllllrighty then, that's 
why I don't run GNOME, isn't it?  Righto.

So I installed "kubuntu-desktop" and then "kde" too, in order to pull in all 
of KDE.  (I like all the extra crap.  I want my menu bristling with obscure 
things I will probably never use.  I bought a big hard drive.  It's my 
prerogative.  Bloat it baby, bloat it up!)

I've been getting along fine, and I can forget all about my brief flirtation 
with GNOME, except for the lingering nightmares.
