No mail from cron on Feisty

I did a lot of searching but couldn't figure it out.  I ended up 
redirecting the output of my backup script to a log file.  This is the 
entry in my etc/crontab:

5 1 * * *	root	rsync-backup >> /home/kk/logs/backup.log

Works for me.
