Moving from Evolution to Kmail

Well, I don't know if that really was reckless, but maybe there are not 
that many people who have moved from Evolution to Kmail. As I have never 
used Evolution, I can only speculate on one point, i.e. recovering your 
mail.

As far as I know, Evolution stores mail in mbox format, which is one big 
text file per mail folder. Kmail uses maildir by default, but it can use 
mbox as well. You should rename your mail folders in Evolution first, if 
there is a name confilct with existing mail folders in Kmail. Then close 
both Evolution and Kmail and copy your Evolution mail file(s) to the 
directory /home/<user>/.kde/share/apps/kmail (sorry, can't tell you where 
you  find your Evolution mail files). On the next start, Kmail should 
find your old mail.
