Kontact - Unable to create "To Do" items

I'm unable to create To Do items on my copy of Kontact (running Kontact 
version 1.2.4 with KDE 3.5.7 on Feisty).  Whenever I try to create a To Do 
and click "Save", I get an error message reading, "Unable to save 
todo '...'".  Unfortunately, the error message is no more detailed than that.

I've got it pointed at /home/richard/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics as my 
resource, and I've chmoded that file to 777, but that didn't do it.  And, 
unfortunately, Google hasn't provided me with any information.

Has anyone had this problem?  Anyone know what I can do to fix it? It's also 
eaten all of my old "to do" items, which is really annoying.
